Choosing a sports spray for kids’ gear

When searching for a sports spray for kids, look for a product intended for equipment rather than a spray to apply to children. Read its directions and check the equipment maker’s care guidance before treating any surface.

AFTERPLAY GEAR is designed to target odour-causing microbes in compatible sports equipment. Its antimicrobial formulation includes New Zealand tea tree extract and an organosilane quaternary ammonium compound. It is equipment care, not an illness-prevention product.

Boots, pads, gloves and kit bags need time to dry between sessions. Follow the product label, test a hidden area where appropriate and leave treated gear out of the bag until fully dry. Never spray near faces or eyes.

The Double Kit includes two 50 mL bottles at NZ$29.95, normally NZ$40.00. The Multisport Player pack includes three 50 mL bottles at NZ$39.95, normally NZ$60.00. Both ship free across New Zealand. Rubber grips and handles are for AFTERPLAY PRO, coming soon.
